Dharti Ke Lal

On Monday June 29th 2009 , there was large gathering of people at Kopri Railway Fly Over , on Easter Express Highway . District Governor Rtn. B. Dhurandar , initiated and guided the Rotarians of Deonar and Thane, to put up a monument called”DHARTI KI LAL”. This was a memorial to remind all of the sacrifices made by our soldiers for our MOTHER LAND. There were officers from all three services of Indian Armed forces were present .Memorial was inaugurated by Rear-Admiral P.K.Chatterjee N.M.,FLAG OFFICER Maharashtra and Gujrat Naval area.

Guest of honour for this event were Brig B.Mathew,Cdr Mumbai sub-area, and from Airforce, Group Captain Shailendra Verma. It was very solemn evening , as the parents of Martyrs and the dignitaries of Thane ,Municipal commissioner, Police commissioner, Mayor of Thane, were all present.

It was a historical even, Tribute to soldiers from people of Thane.
