Republic Day Cycle Rally
January 26, 2020
Brothers in Arms is an initiative by youngsters in the city aiming to create awareness about the armed forces. The group has previously visited a few colleges & delivered lectures to help the students know more about the sacrifices our soldiers make. Besides this, they have deep love for the men in uniform and hence they frequently visit memorials of martyrs, the previously visited being those of Lt Nawang Kapadia, Captain R Subramanian, Major Kasutubh Rane & Police Memorial, Marine Drive.
On the occasion of India’s 71st Republic Day, BIA had organised a cycle rally from Powai to Marine Drive. They visited a few public places enroute, interacted with the citizens and appealed to them to donate on the ‘Bharat ke veer’ website which is a govt initiative where in we can donate money to provide financial help to the families of martyrs. Their message to those who were young, not yet capable of making any donations was to visit the families of martyrs. They believe, financial help may not be needed always but when a citizen assures the family of a martyr that the country still remembers the sacrifice, it lights up the lives of these families like nothing else could do.
BIA successfully completed the rally covering 65kms and even after today, they hope to create as much awareness as they can.
