This logo is based on the undaunting and loyal spirit of Gorkha soldier. Gorkha soldiers have a history of being one of the best warriors is it any battle terrain.
The Third Gorkha Rifles is known the most fearless regiments of Indian Army.
The strength behind their fearless nature is reflected in their motto:
” kafar Bhanda Marnu Ramro ”
Which means “It is better to die in valor than to live like a coward”. |

The logo is elliptical with the boundary comprising of a diminishing outline with a combat helmet resting on top of the rifle which is supported with the Khukhri’s.
The Combat Helmet & Rifle signify the importance of the elements in use by the Gorkha regiment during a combat. A Khukhri Dagger signifies the ferocious character of the Gorkha Regiment. The diminishing line represents the life of a Soldier which an open Loop. |

Rajwar Logo |
This is a square logo comprising the Gorkha Regiment’s Crest Logo atop with a set of mountains dominating the centre part with the lower most part depicting a battle scene and the soldiers in action with a historic date at the bottom.
The crest Logo atop the mountain signifies the platoon’s victory at the Rajwar, near Kupwara. The mountain and the charging soldiers depict the battle that occurred on the 10th November 2000 between Lt. Nawang’s Troops and the Terrorists. |
