Vartalap Session with the Desh team

Vartalap (a casual conversation) session with the Desh team was done on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Nawang’s supreme sacrifice. We very much enjoyed the session with Adrija, Anasuya and all the participants. We are thankful to the Desh team for this opportunity.
They have been kindly sending us flowers on Nawang’s Birthdays and Anniversaries for the past many year. These have brought us tremendous joy and comfort.
“11th November 2020 marks the 20th bravery day of Lt. Nawang Kapadia. In the remembrance of our braveheart DESH is honoured to have the parents Geeta aunty and Harish uncle and brother Sonam bhaiya with us on our #Vartalap session on 10th November 2020 at 5.15PM.
They will share the childhood, growing up and many sweet little memories of their beloved Nawang with us. To know the making of a hero, be there with us on 10th November at 5.15pm here in our Facebook group with your messages, wishes and questions for the brave family.

In the year 1999 when the Kargil war was fought, we were in class 11. It inspired us to love our country and our Army more passionately. It motivated us to work for our Armed forces. We started meeting our soldiers and their families building a close relationship with them. Myself Adrija Sen and my childhood friend Anasuya Mitra formed a group called DESH. We are not any registered organization or any NGO. We are an informal group of like minded people who work as a team to
1. To give due respect to our soldiers irrespective of ranks.
2. To provide moral, psychological and social support to the martyr’s families.
3. Aware people of our nation about our soldier’s role and their sacrifices in protecting the democracy of our nation.
4. Motivate young generation of our nation to join the tri services and guide them on how to join.
** We had sent 11000 rakhis last year to Siachen, Kargil, Drass, Leh, Uri, Kashmir.
** This year we have sent 2 diyas each to 90 martyr families in the occasion of Diwali
