Aug 2000… Just a few days before we passed out from the Academy, Nawang offered me a box full of home made Besan Ladoo. It really was a luxury during those days as we were always hungry, always sweating it out. Nawang was a very jolly, friendly , kind hearted fellow.

Our families interacted during our passing out parade and clicked pictures together with the two stars on our shoulders.

We passed out from the Academy on 02 Sep 2000, and joined our respective Units by last week of September. We were excited and apprehensive in joining our respective Battalions.

Nawang and I were still in touch through letters sharing vividly of our excitements, challenges as newly joined Lieutenants. He sent me my birthday card which I had received on my birthday ,  10th November and I had sent a reply on 11th November which he had never read that letter…
