Memories Forever….

Anjali Karpe whom Nawang called Anjali Tai is his aunty. Her father Lt. Gen Ramesh Kulkarni (retd) was a major influence on Nawang to join the army.

If I were asked today – how well I recall you,

I would pause a bit and think a lot.

Not because the memories have faded and blurred

But because the years have frozen them intact.

There was your faint smile that belied a hard tenacity;

There was your quiet determination that covered it all.

You forged ahead even when a wall reared up

Sacrificed all because you believed in a cause.

You followed a passion that couldn’t be quelled.

You walked a path that many fear to tread.

You defined a path that was truly your own.

That is how I recall the Nawang I have known.
